Charlotte Wicks

Singing Tutor

Charlotte Wicks (nee Stephenson) studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Academy Opera course graduating in 2009. She is an Independent Opera Fellow and graduate of the Solti, Te kanawa Academia di Bel Canto.    

Charlotte made her professional Operatic debut with Glyndebourne Touring Opera singing Valetto/L’incoronazione di Poppea and in 2016 sang an Apprentice in Die Miestersingervon Nurnberg for The Glyndebourne Festival. She has also performed Annio / La Clemenzadi Tito with English Touring Opera and Kate Pinkerton and Cousin in Mid Wales Opera Production of Madam Butterfly. Charlotte has also worked for Opera North, Raymond Gubbay productions at the Royal Albert Hall, and sang Carmen for Garden Opera’s 2013 UK tour which ended at the South Bank Centre.

In 2014 Charlotte returned to Glyndebourne opera to Understudy the Role of Ramiro in La finta Giardinera for the Glyndebourne Tour and Kate Pinkerton in Madam Butterfly at the Royal Albert Hall in 2015. As a soloist, she has worked extensively with London Festival Opera performing in opera galas all over the world. Most recently she performed in Benjamin Britten’s  Peter Grimes at the Monte Carlo Opera House. 

Charlotte  began her musical outreach work whilst studying at the Royal Academy of Music devising opera workshops for schools, she then went on to work for Live Music Now both in London and Manchester specialising in music therapy in schools hospices and Care homes, she is joint co founder of Intergenerational Opera who specialise is bringing primary school children and local older people together through music workshops. She has been teaching students of all ages and abilities privately and at St Andrews Prep for the past 10 years and this September she takes on the role of Music Teacher at Chyngton Primary school in Seaford. 

Charlotte lives in Seaford with her husband, two young children and their border Terrier Daisy.
